Sizing Information
Most Dainese gloves we’ve carried run snug like other European brands, but this particular style seems to run “normally” like other US brands. So choose the size you normally wear.
I notice the finger length on this style is longer than most gloves I try on in the course of doing reviews. They aren’t freakishly long, but worth a mention. If you have average to longer fingers, you’ll like this one, but those with stubby fingers might not.
Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
This glove is offered in sizes down to XXXS for women and youth wear.
Our Two Cents
The Blackjack gloves are a classic leather “patrol” style glove made of very high quality leather.
Cruiser riders and urban cafe riders will be drawn to this style. One thing I notice that makes this glove a bit better than the MANY similarly styled gloves is the soft nylon liner material inside. With a liner, new gloves are less likely to leave any stains on your hands during break-in, and generally they are just more comfortable to wear.
Each knuckle has a soft round disc of padding over it to give just a bit of impact protection, but really, this glove is un-armored. The leather is reasonably thick however so you will have some abrasion protection.
Gloves like this are comfortable and so handy to wear and then tuck away in a pocket when you are off the bike. Spring summer and fall will be good times of year for this glove. :: Paul, 08-15-18
Dainese says:These gloves with elegant, classic design also vaunt a fresh and fashionable vintage look. Blackjack gloves is available also in Ladies’ version, and are particularly suited to warm, pleasant riding in spring and summer. Elasticated inserts and wrist adjustment possibilities guarantee the optimum comfortable fit.
Reviews
Cruiser gloves fit into a wide category, typically being associated with cruiser motorcycles, but they actually fit into many different riding styles. Cruiser gloves are often a plainer glove that caters to a lot of needs, but not all at the same time.
Some cruising gloves are vented for summer touring or more insulated for those who prefer to travel in colder weather. Whatever season they’re made for, they aim for great comfort that also offers protection against abrasion and road vibe.

Best Cruiser Riding Gloves List July 2020
Cruise gloves are usually short-cuff gloves, some containing armor and some just being “classic” leather gloves for riding. Some are waterproof as well, making them more comfortable for longer trips.
Finding a pair of these gloves that really works for you can make a huge difference in your riding, so be sure to look for a comfortable fit that isn’t too tight or too loose, and be sure to consider features that are specific to your own list of requirements.

REV’IT! Monster 2 Gloves Review
One of the first differences you’ll notice between the Monster 1 and the Monster 2 from REV’IT is that the Monster 2 has more of a retro cafe style look and feel. The soft goatskin leather offers excellent water resistance, which is perfect for a more comfortable fit and tactile manageability during wet rides.
At the same time, you won’t have sacrifice protection for those features either, especially in this price range. The low-profile coated knuckle with elastic in the front for optimum movement. Outer protection is a great feature, running from the tip of the pinky, down the side of the hand and across the heel of the hand.
Pros Include:
- 100% goatskin leather outer shell, 100% polyester lining
- Adjustable cuff strap for a perfect fit.
- Touchscreen compatible finger and thumb capability
Cons Include:
- Velcro closure is not entirely functional
- Excess thumb length limits functionality
- Leather sometimes cracks, compromising the water resistance
REV’IT! Fly 2 Glove Review
The REV’IT Fly 2 has been upgraded in a few different ways including comfort, fit, and protection, all while maintaining an affordable price.
With goatskin on the palm and cowhide on the top, it has all over perforations which is a step up from the previous glove release that only featured dimples. Better ventilation means less sweating which translates into a safer and more comfortable ride.
The glove works for just about every kind of riding, including cruiser riding, and in just about every kind of weather unless it’s very cold. Pre-curving is more ergonomically designed and the touchscreen compatible finger and thumb tips are now the same color as the rest of the glove so that it doesn’t stand out as much.
Pros Include:
- Tri-fleece liner
- Temperfoam in the palm
- Cuff adjustable
Cons Include:
- Runs a size smaller
- Inside stitching is rough
- Seams can tear
Icon Anthem 2 Gloves Review
Both affordable and feature-rich, the Icon Anthem 2 Gloves offer a great option in cruiser gear for the regular rider. This glove offers a stealth look with D30 in the knuckles and neoprene on the back of the hand. Instead of being a slip-on, you know have an adjustable Velcro strap at the short cuff.
For those who have larger hands, the Icon Anthem 2 is a perfect piece, with sizing that runs larger and a longer finger set as well. A goatskin leather palm offers excellence in both comfort and durability while both the index and thumb tips are touchscreen capable.
Pros Include:
- Excellent ventilation that prevents sweating discomfort
- Very durable, especially for a budget glove
- Lightweight and manageable
Cons Include:
- Finger stitching sometimes frays
- Only knuckle areas are armored
- Neoprene cuffs are not durable
Dainese Blackjack Gloves Review
With the Dainese Blackjack Gloves, you get a great stylish leather with a casual single closure mimicking some of the more retro designs in cruiser gloves.
The fingers offer a double layer of leather for added protection and the palm features smooth goatskin leather that gives you great tactile command. Elastic inserts and an adjustable wrist closure give you more opportunity to get the fit you want and need while also assuring that your riding comfort is never compromised.
At the same time, they will protect your hands against a variety of elements, including abrasion and sweating.
Pros Include:
- Leather reinforcement in the palm area
- The wrist closure is hook and loop
- Fingers are pre-curved for a truly ergonomic fit
Cons Include:
- The fingers are long
- Stitching frays easily in the first season
- There is sometimes a sizing difference between the two gloves
Speed and Strength Rust and Redemption Gloves Review
You’ll get a vintage feel from these retrofit Rust and Redemption gloves that are part of an actual line that includes a helmet and a jacket as well. The sleek styling is perfect for those who prefer functionality over flash and with an American fit across the board, you’ll get the size you need every time.
Lots of elasticity under the main panel gives you great flexibility and control while the padding around the knuckles beefs up the protection. Contrast stitching in the palm area melds well with the patches of extra padding for comfort, style, and security.
You also have access to three different color schemes, black, brown, and olive green, that really blends well with the overall vintage distressed appearance.
Pros Include:
- Knuckle hinging for extra comfort and flexibility
- Excellent style and functionality combo
- True to fit
Cons Include:
- No touchscreen device capability
- Internal seams uncomfortable on long rides
- Perforation does not vent well
My Vote for Best Cruiser Gloves
What are the best cruiser motorcycle riding gloves? The REV’IT Monster 2 Gloves get a hefty thumbs up today for a variety of reasons.
While not a bottom of the barrel discount offering, these gloves still won’t break the bank. What they will do is give you a great fit with all the protection you need while remaining low-profile enough to be functional and lightweight. The shorter cuff means no wrangling the sleeves of your riding jacket and breathability makes them an easy three-season glove.
Dainese Motorcycle Gloves
One of the nicest points of interest in the Monter 2 is the protection line that offers a straight line from the pinky tip all the way down and around to the thumb heel. If you ever lay your bike down and slide across concrete, you’ll quickly find out just how important that is for the everyday cruising rider. Definitely a big win in the “Best Cruiser Gloves” category.
