Ok, went to Minneapolis last weekend. On the way back to iowa, i went to mystic lake. I was surprised by the pen by the dealer. May be it was a mistake on her part but the pen was less than a deck, about.75 deck or so in a 6 deck shoe. I played two shoes and seriously the count was super high at the end of both of them.

I didn't know about this until I accidentally showed up to Mystic Lake on a Friday night two weeks ago, but they currently have this promotion called 'License to Thrill.' They're giving away free slot play, cash, even a car. I didn't think this was a big deal, but it's a huge hit for some reason. Like, big enough for them to close down the primary parking ramp and make me park in some overflow lot.
I thought this was going to be a bad thing, since the place was packed. Every blackjack table was open and filled to capacity, but I somehow eventually managed to get in two spots at a $10 table. It turns out that if you get a suited blackjack (or a 5 card charlie, 6-7-8, 777, etc.) you can get extra entries in their License to Thrill drawings. This is great because these are relatively common, and every time you get one, the PC has to record it by hand.
So I played 2 hands at with a 1-8 spread each for 4 hours and got no PC attention at all, even though both times I won over $500 (I know this isn't much for a lot of you, but in the past when I win that much I get at least a little attention from the PC). It was great. I went immediately after work last Friday (got there at about 6:30) and did the same exact thing, so those of you in the Minneapolis area might want to give it a shot.
